The Certificate in Business Administration (CBA) is a graduate program designed to improve business management skills.

With a strong focus on applying concepts and tools to the routine activities of companies, the CBA develops in students the integrated vision of business they need to be ready to assume management positions.

Who should attend

The CBA is aimed at professionals with up to three years of experience who have proven functional knowledge of the various areas of medium and large companies and who want to acquire the preparation required to effectively manage organizational processes, improve their capacity to manage teams and accelerate their careers through the development of managerial skills.

Because the CBA was designed to develop professionals who become references in their organizations regardless of where they work.

Structured to ensure students make the most of the program, the CBA covers fundamental elements of business administration, such as interpersonal skills and economic and financial analyses. This structure was developed based on surveys conducted by Insper of students and former students and human resources managers and professionals working in a wide variety of industries and organizations.

The faculty of the CBA program is formed by prominent professionals who have not only vast market experience, but are also equipped with the latest teaching and learning techniques.

The diversity of student knowledge and backgrounds also contributes to the richness of the learning process at Insper. CBA students are constantly encouraged to share their experiences and skills, drawing a parallel between the reality of their day-to-day activities with the content presented in the classroom in order to improve their ability to identify critical business issues supported by logical positions and arguments.

Program Goals

  • Multifunctional vision: develop the capacity to think and act taking into account the relationship between all of the organization’s business processes and products
  • Problem solving and analytical thinking: develop the capacity to support decision-making that addresses the proposed organizational problems
  • Result orientation: working on organizational processes and projects to deliver, on a sustainable basis, the results (financial and other) requested by your areas
  • Interpersonal skills: improve interpersonal skills in contexts such as communication with third parties, leading small teams and working to achieve the organizational objectives established by the team

The two initial modules focus on the competencies required to analyze organizational processes and identify potential solutions to problems. The third module focuses on administrative management, with in-depth coverage of the managerial process. The program concludes with a simulation of the decision-making process at a company, leading students to use and integrate all of the skills and tools they have acquired.

Faculty Committee of the Certificates Program


The Committee supports the Dean in the selection and development of Professors and in the development of academic programs (program curriculum and class plans).


The Committee is formed by Faculty Members selected for their record of contributions to the program, their performance in the classroom, their academic preparation and their ties with Insper.

The Committee composition is reviewed at the start of each year and the term of office of all members is 12 months.

Prof. Alvaro Cardoso Armond

Holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Armando Álvares Penteado Foundation (FAAP) and has concluded non-degree specializations in Brazil and abroad in the areas of Planning and Strategy, Marketing and Investments. Master in Organizational Behavior from Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie. Has over 20 years of professional experience, 13 of which were spent at the UK group Lloyds TSB, where he was one of the persons responsible for the project to implement asset management operations at the company. He is currently a board member at the NGO the Brazilian Institute of Education on Sustainable Enterprises (IBENS) and a partner of the New Ventures program of the World Resources Institute (WRI). He is currently Partner-Director at Vartika, a behavioral education company focused on organizational results.

Prof. Flavio Romero Macau

Management consultant and managing partner at Conquistar Treinamento. He is a researcher in strategy, operations and people management. He received a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the Polytechnic School (Poli) at the University of São Paulo (USP), concluded a non-degree specialization at Poli’s Continuing Education program and is a master in Organizational Behavior from Mackenzie and a doctor in Strategic Operations from the School of Economics and Business Administration (EAESP) at the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV).

Prof. David Kallas

Has experience in planning processes and is a recognized expert in Balanced Scorecard. He is currently a partner at KC&D and Executive Director of the National Association of Finance, Administration and Accounting Executives (Anefac), responsible for the Anefac-Fipecafi-Serasa Award (Transparency Trophy). He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of São Paulo (USP) with extension studies at the University of Stockholm in Sweden and is doctor of Strategy from the Getúlio Vargas Foundation of São Paulo (FGV-SP) and master of Business policy and Business Economics from USP’s School of Economics, Business Administration and Accounting (FEA).


Guy Cliquet do Amaral Filho
Associate Dean Certificates Programs

Master of Mecatronic Engineering from the Polytechnic School at the University of São Paulo (USP) and received a bachelor’s degree from the Technological Institute of Aeronautics (ITA). He holds professional certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI). In addition to his professorships, his career includes 25 years of experience in senior management positions at companies such as Twill, American Tool Companies, Synchro and Braskem. His experience in Project Management includes initiatives in the areas of Management Systems, Automation, Manufacturing, Software Development and Education. He is a doctor of Organizational Behavior from Tulane University (New Orleans).
