Empirical Industrial Organization
He is an associate professor at Insper, teaching Price Formation (intermediate micro) in the undergraduate program and Industrial Organization in the master’s program. He is director of the Advanced Studies Program (ASP), which is formed by students in the Business Administration and Economics programs who, for a period of one year, study and research specific topics to produce an academic paper.
He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Illinois, bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Economics from the University of São Paulo (1996 and 2000) and a doctorate in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (2006).
He has experience in industrial organization and applied macroeconomics, especially in the following fields: competition analysis, economic regulations, estimation games of firms entering non-competitive markets, electricity markets, among others.
He has published papers in many Brazilian and international academic journals. He is also the editor of journals such as Public Choice, Revista de Economia Aplicada and Revista ANPEC. He is a two-time recipient (2008 and 2012) of the George Stigler award for best paper published by an Insper professor.
