External Assessment Committee (EAC)

As we understand the importance of the participation of other stakeholders in our continuous improvement process, in 2006 we created an External Assessment Committee (EAC), composed of highly qualified and experienced professionals in their respective areas of activity, including members of the Community Alumni.

The purpose of the EAC is to bring the School and related parties closer together, seeking to promote critical monitoring of its insertion in the scenario of action in education and research in the disciplines of business management and economy. This approach process has two specific goals:

  • Subjecting the school’s long-term performance and orientation to the critical scrutiny of representatives from society and its stakeholders;
  • Listening to and responding to calls from society in its areas of activity.

The External Assessment Committee meets once a year, always during the July school break, and dedicates an entire day to discuss the agenda and materials previously distributed for reading.

At the end of the meeting, an evaluation is carried out and a report of the identified recommendations is drawn up. This document is forwarded to the Board of Directors and Executive Committee, as well as to the members of the External Assessment Committee, as a record of the session.

External Assessment Visiting Committee has new president after 10 years

In 2006, Insper created the External Assessment Committee (EAC) as a consultative body, detached from management, with the objective of bringing to the institution’s managers the critical vision of people committed to the pursuit of excellence in teaching and research in Brazil and to bring to society a transparent and accurate image of how the school works.

The External Assessment Committee (EAC) is currently made up of around 40 members, including academics, research promoters, entrepreneurs, third sector executives, students and alumni school and public personalities of recognized relevance in the teaching and research sector.

The EAC meetings take place annually and focus on the presentation of Insper’s managerial and academic results and on the discussion of themes that are fundamental to its strategic definitions. The most frequent topics submitted for evaluation and discussion by the EAC are:

  • Objectives, management quality and competitive positioning;
  • Student body – profile of the incoming student, academic development and adequacy of the egress to the demands of the labor market or the continuity of academic life;
  • Faculty – adequacy of the faculty, in quantity and quality, to the teaching and research objectives of the institution;
  • Areas of concentration of research and knowledge development;
  • Offering of teaching program formats and their adequacy to the educational requirements of the labor market;
  • Curriculum structure of the courses offered.

The EAC emerged as a pioneering initiative in Brazil and continues to improve each year with systematic assessments of the quality of meetings, the relevance of the topics covered and the consequences of the recommendations and discussions. Over the past 10 years, the Visiting Committee has established itself as an important player in achieving Insper’s vision of “To be the best Brazilian higher education institution in the areas in which it operates and to be recognized as such.”

Affonso Celso Pastore

He is an economist and founding partner and consultant at the firm A. C. Pastore e Associados. He served as secretary of the São Paulo State Treasury Department for four years and as president of the Central Bank of Brazil from 1983 to 1985. He holds a doctorate Doctor’s Degree in Economics from the Economics School of the University of São Paulo (USP), where he also served as a director and professor.

Alexandre Freire Guerra

His wide academic background includes a bachelor’s degree in law from the University of the Federal District (UniDF), a master’s degree in Business Administration from Insper, a master’s degree in Management from the Graduate School of Business (ESA) at Pierre Mendès University in Grenoble, France, and an MBA with a focus on international trade from the University of São Paulo (USP). He also completed non-degree specializations in controllership for multinationals at FIA and in Derivative Markets at BM&FBovespa. In 1998, he began his career at Giraffas® in the Restaurant Management department. Years later, he joined the financial team at Banco Fator. In 2005, he returned to Giraffas® as financial manager and later became its chief financial officer. In 2011, he became the company’s chief executive officer, his current position. He is also president of Brazilian Foodservice Institute (IFB) and of Brazilian Franchising Association (ABF).

Ana Carla Abrão Costa

Holds a master’s degree in Economics from the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV/RJ) and a doctor’s degree in the same field from University of São Paulo (FEA/USP). With extensive academic production in the fields of credit and banking spreads, she was a civil servant at the Central Bank of Brazil, chief economist at the consulting firm Tendências Consultoria and risk director at Banco Itaú, where she worked until 2014. From January 2015 to January 2017, she headed the Treasury Department of the State of Goiás. She currently serves as chair of the Fiscal Management Board of the City of São Paulo.

Clara Beatriz Lourenço de Faria

Alumna LL.M. 2010

Lawyer with Bachelor’s degree in Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC/SP) and a graduation (LL.M.) in Corporate Law from Insper. She also participated in the International Extension program in Transnational Law at the Duke-Geneva Institute in Geneva, Switzerland. She has focused on corporate law since starting her career and today works at the law firm Rothmann Sperling Padovan Advogados, where she advises Brazilian and foreign companies on corporate, contractual and regulatory matters.

Claudio De Moura Castro

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) and a master’s degree from Yale University. He began a doctorate in Economics at the University of California at Berkeley, which he concluded at Vanderbilt University. He was a professor in the master’s programs at Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-RJ), Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV), University of Chicago, University of Brasília, University of Geneva and University of Bourgogne in Dijon.He worked at the Institute for Applied Economic Research (IPEA) / Economic and Social Planning Institute (INPES), was technical coordinator of the Program for Joint Studies on Latin American Economic Integration (ECIEL), and later was general director of CAPES, the federal agency regulating stricto sensu graduate programs. He also served as executive secretary of the National Human Resource Chamber (CNRH) of the IPEA. Abroad he served as head of the Development Policies Division of the ILO (Geneva), as chief economist of human resources of the World Bank and as head of the Social Programs Division of the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB). Upon retiring from the IADB in late 2001, he became chairman of the Advisory Board of Faculdade Pitágoras. In 2009, he became special advisor to the CEO of Grupo Positivo.Having authored more than 40 books and over 300 scientific papers, he is a regular contributor to Veja magazine and a member of various boards of educational and cultural entities.

Claudio Schvartsman

He serves as a physician at Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein, is Vice President of Education and Research and physician at the Child’s Institute of the Hospital das Clínicas of the University of São Paulo’s Medical School, where he is head of the Emergency Room, and dean of the Faculdade Israelita de Ciências da Saúde Albert Einstein. He has experience in the Medical field with an emphasis on Pediatrics, working mainly in the following areas pediatrics, intoxication, child, trauma and diabetic ketoacidosis.

He holds a medical degree from the Medical School of the University of São Paulo (1980), completed residency in pediatrics (1981-1982) and pediatric emergency (1983) through the same school, holds a master’s degree in pediatrics from the University of São Paulo (1990) and a doctorate in Medicine (Pediatrics) from the same university (1996).

Daniel Traça

Full Professor of Economics at the Faculty of Economics, Universidade Nova de Lisboa (Nova SBE). He is also a Visiting Professor at INSEAD, in France and Singapore. Previously, he was Professor at INSEAD, and at Solvay Business School, Brussels, where he was Vice President and Director of the MBA Program, and Visiting Professor at the Vlerick School of Business, Leuven, Belgium, at the KDI School of Management and Policy, Seoul , South Korea and at the Graduate Institute of International Economics, Geneva, Switzerland. Daniel Traça graduated from the Faculty of Economics at Universidade Nova de Lisboa and obtained his PhD at Columbia University, New York. He worked as a consultant for the World Bank and the European Commission and published his scientific research in several of the main international academic journals in the field of Globalization and Economic Development.

Daniela Barone Soares

She is CEO of Granito & Partners in London and Executive Chair of Muove Brasil. Previously she provided consulting services to the government of the United Kingdom for formulating strategies and creating a fund to reduce youth unemployment. From 2006 to 2015, she was the CEO of Impetus-PEF, a global leader in risk philanthropy.

She currently serves a non-executive director at Halma plc and Evora S.A. and on various advisory boards.

 

Demosthenes Pinho

He has over 25 years of experience as a senior executive and consultant in the financial industry. In the public sector, he was General Coordinator of Monetary and Financial Policy at the Treasury Department and Director of the Central Bank of Brazil during the administrations of Itamar Franco and Fernando Henrique Cardoso. He has held important positions in the private financial industry at Dresdner Bank, Unibanco and Itaú Unibanco. He was a professor in the master’s and doctoral programs in Economics at Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV-SP) and in the undergraduate programs in Economics at Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-RJ) and at Insper in São Paulo. He currently is the main executive at Brasil Warrant Investimentos and also serves on the boards of directors of Itaú Unibanco and Companhia Brasileira de Metalurgia e Mineração (CBMM). He holds a B.S. in Economics from PUC-RJ and a Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley.

Denis Mizne

Executive director of Fundação Lemann, he is a lawyer graduated from USP and was visiting scholar the Human Rights Advocates Program at Columbia University and Yale World Fellow at Yale University. He founded and chairs the Board of Instituto Sou da Paz. He is a member of the Board of Roberto Marinho Foundation and GIFE – Group of Institutes, Foundations and Companies.

Denise Tiemi Yagui

He served as CEO of Fundação BRAVA since 2012, with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of São Paulo (FEA/USP) and a master’s degree in Public Administration from Columbia University. She completed the High Potential Leadership Program at Harvard Business School and worked in the financial industry at ABN AMRO Banco Real and Santander Group.

Eduardo Medaets

Alumnus Professional ADM 2012

He was awarded a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Insper and member of the Alumni Council. He works at Google Brasil as a measurement specialist for Brazil. Previously at Google he worked for four years as a head of research for major retailers in Brazil. During his studies at Insper, he was an academic monitor for five courses in the undergraduate program, a scholarship student for the Institutional Program for Scientific Initiation (PIBIC) and a research assistant for Professor Adriana Bruscato Bortoluzzo. He was class leader for five straight semesters. He was elected to represent the undergraduate students at the meetings of Insper’s Academic Committee in 2010, and was actively involved in the school’s academic matters. In 2011, he was an interchange student at William Marsh Rice University in Houston, Texas and more recently he completed a program in executive education at Columbia Business School in New York. In 2017, he brought to Insper the extracurricular activity for undergraduate students in the theatrical arts called Insper On Broadway.

Elizabeth Farina

She was dean of graduate programs at FEA-USP and has supervised theses, dissertations and monographs in the fields of Economics of Institutions, Economics of Agribusiness, Competition and Regulations. She has published more than forty scholarly works, including papers, books and book chapters on the same topics. She has participated in national and international congresses, symposiums and seminars as a speaker on topics related to Industrial Organization, Economics of Competition, Regulation and Agribusiness. She was a member of the Steering Group of the International Competition Network in 2007-2008. She is a member of the International Society for New Institutional Economics and of the faculty of the Ronald Coase Institute. She is a member of the International Industrial Organization Society. She has served on the executive boards of the International Food and Agribusiness Management Association (IFAMA) and of the Brazilian Institute for Studies on Competition, Consumer Affairs and International Trade (IBRAC). She received the Haralambus Simeonides Award from the National Association of Graduate Centers in Economics (ANPEC) in 1990.

Fátima Zorzato

Partner of INWI CONSULTING, focused on sucession on family businesses, guidance and development of inheriters and Executive Search projects to C-Level and Board. She was a founding partner and country manager from Russell Reynolds Associates Brazil, where he worked for over 17 years. Before embarking on an entrepreneurial career, she worked as an executive in service, professional electronics and consumer electronics companies. For eight years, she was a professor at the Objective Universities – UNIP – Psychology Course; and the Master’s in Administration at FAAP. Graduated in Psychology from the Pontifical Catholic University – São Paulo, with specialization at Fundação Getúlio Vargas-FGV/SP and executive development programs abroad.

Fernando Perez

CEO of Recepta Biopharma S.A. He served as scientific director at the Armando Álvares Penteado Foundation of São Paulo (FAPESP) from 1993 to 2005. He is a member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences. He is a director on the boards of the National Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics (IMPA) and of the National Center for Energy and Materials Research (CNPEM). He received the Medal and Grand Cross of the National Order of Scientific and Technological Merit. He holds bachelor’s degrees in Electronics from the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo (USP) (1967) and in Physics from USP (1967). He received a Ph.D. from the Polytechnic School of Zurich (1973). He was a full professor at the Physics Institute of USP until 2004. He is the chairman of the board of the Pro-Dance association responsible for the São Paulo Dance Company.

Flavia Buarque De Almeida

She is an independent director on the board of Lojas Renner S.A. and a member of the Board of Overseers of Harvard University. From 2009 to 2013, she was senior partner at the Monitor Group (today Monitor Deloitte). From 2003 to 2009, she was general director of Participações Morro Vermelho S.A., the family-owned holding company that controls the Camargo Corrêa Group. From 1989 to 2003, she worked at McKinsey & Company, where she was partner. She has lectured in various educational programs and events covering issues related to strategy, governance and family-controlled businesses, which include the Family Business Network (FBN), Family Firm Institute (FFI), Brazilian Corporate Governance Institute (IBGC) and JPMorgan Family Business Forum. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV) and an MBA from Harvard Business School. She is also a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) and of Women Corporate Directors (WCD) Flavia is married and has two children.

Francisco Mesquita Neto

Graduated in business administration, with a master’s degree from Columbia University, he currently holds the position of Executive President and member of the Board of Directors of Grupo Estado, member of Tribanco since 2004 and coordinator of the People, Management and Governance Committee. Member of the Board of Directors of Topic S/A and Sociedade Cultura Artística. He is Vice President of the National Association of ANJ Newspapers and coordinator of its Press Freedom Committee.

Geraldo Samor

Graduated from the University of Kansas, Geraldo Samor is founder and editor of the website Brazil Journal. He has already maintained a blog at Veja magazine and was a correspondent for The Wall Street Journal in Brazil.

 

Guilherme T. S. Demarchi

Alumnus Professional MBA 2013

He holds a degree in Radiology from Paulista Medical School and completed internships at the universities of Stanford, UW-Madison and Harvard (BWH, Children’s Hospital and BIDMC). His medical degree was revalidated in the United States (ECFMG certified). He also completed an Executive MBA at Insper, where he placed first in his class with academic merit. He was vice-head of the Ultrasonography Department and preceptor of the Imaging Diagnostics Department at the Federal University of São Paulo. He is a sworn translator for the state of São Paulo and a commercial interpreter, received the RSNA’s Introduction to Research for International Young Academics Award and worked as a manager at the Fleury Group (Fleury and brands). Currently he is involved in entrepreneurship in the area of social integration in health care, serving as partner-director of Geral!, his medical services company.

Horacio Lafer Piva

With a degree in Economics and a graduation in Business Administration, he sits on the Boards of Directors of Klabin SA, Martins SA, Tarpon SA, Cataratas SA, Grupo Baumgart and TCP SA. He is a member of the Boards of Osesp – Symphonic Orchestra Foundation of the State of São Paulo, Embrapii – Brazilian Company for Research and Industrial Innovation and FFHC – Fernando Henrique Cardoso Foundation.

Isabela P. Becker

Executive director of Fundação Educar DPaschoal, since 2007, and member of the governance board of Daterra Coffee, considered the most sustainable farm in Brazil. Graduated in Communication from ESPM, Postgraduate in Administration from Harvard University and in Foreign Trade from Fundação Dom Cabral. Currently, she is one of the effective partners of Todos Pela Educação, and is also on the board of Sistema B of ICE – Instituto de Cidadania Empresarial.

João Furlan

Alumnus Professional ADM 2003

He holds master’s degrees in Marketing and Commercial Management from SDA Bocconi (Italy) and ESADE (Spain) and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Insper. He has completed extension studies in Change Management from the University of Notre Dame, in Advanced Negotiation in Harvard; in Leadership Programs Design by ATD and High Potential Leadership by Center for Creative Leadership. He is a certified coach by the NeuroLeadership Institute. Author of the celebrated book “FLAPS! 6 steps to accelerate results and rocket your career with AdaptAgil Leadership” that exposes the model built by him (Furlan Leadership Acceleration and People Management System) to accelerate leadership capacities for High Potentials and Young Leaders. He is the only Brazilian author on the list of “10 books to accelerate your career”, from Amazon , together with Economy Nobel Prize awarded Daniel Kahneman.

He is the founding partner, CEO and consultant of Enora Leaders, an organizational development consulting firm he founded in 2007. He is Marketing and Communication Director of the Brazilian Human Resources Association in São Paulo (ABRH-SP). In 2001, founded Insper’s students’ union, serving as the chairman that year. His personal mission is to support transforming Brazil from Education.

João Moreira Salles

He is a partner at Cambuhy Investimentos and a member of the firm’s Investment Committee. He is also a member of the Investment and Risk committees at Brasil Warrant Gestão de Investimentos and a member of the Executive Committee at Brasil Warrant S.A. Previously he worked on the Mergers and Acquisitions team at JP Morgan based in New York.He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Insper, master’s degrees in Economics from Columbia University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and in Finance from Columbia University Graduate School of Business, and a doctorate in Economics from the School of Economics, Business Administration and Accounting (FEA) at the University of São Paulo (USP).

Joaquim Falcão

Doctor’s degree in Education from the Université de Génève. LL.M. and  Harvard Law School. Law Degree from PUC-RJ. He is a professor of Constitutional Law and vice-president of the Executive Board of the Itaú Cultural Institute. He currently is a board member of the Harvard Law School Association of Brazil and of the Joaquim Nabuco Foundation.

 

José Ernesto Bologna

He holds bachelor’s degrees and graduate degrees in Psychology and Business administration from Pontifical Catholic University of Sao Paulo (PUC–SP) and from Universidade Mackenzie (São Paulo), with extension studies at Bowling Green State University in Ohio, USA and the University of Kalamazoo in Michigan, USA. He is the founder and CEO of Ethos DHO, which is headquartered in São Paulo. He is a lecturer and the author of various books, DVDs, essays and events in the field of Development Psychology applied to Business and Education.

José Roberto E. de Moraes Filho

Founding partner and COO on Perfin Investimentos – independent manager of BRL 7 billion funds, focused on Asset Management and Wealth Management. Undergraduated in Business Management by Insper, with enhancement courses overseas (China and USA). Acted in investment banking, on Merrill Lynch Bank, and as Business analyst for Mckinsey & Co. With knowledge on several acting Fields from Votorantim group, has a Strong entrepreneur spirit on his DNA, with capacity to analyze and assess risks on new businesses execution. He is currently Board Member and Executive Committee on Perfin Investimentos; Board Member of companies Hejoassu S.A.– Grupo Votorantim’s holding controller; Votorantim Institute Board Votorantim; Apollo XI S.A.  – Energy Transmission; and the board and executive committee of Geração Brasil Melhor (GBM).

Juan Carlos Resende Morales

He holds a B.S. in Production Engineering from Pontifical Catholic University (PUC-RJ), and an M.S. in Economics from Insper, and completed a non-degree program in Finance at the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management. He is a founding member of the CFA Society of Brazil, linked to the CFA Institute, where he also served on the Board of Directors, in 2004.  Previously he worked in the financial industry for over 19 years, always in the areas of investment research and portfolio management.  He is head of equities at Daycoval Asset Management since November 2015. Previously he was a partner and CIO at Grand Prix Investimentos, an asset management firm specializing in equities, where he was responsible for asset management and a member of the board of directors. He served in various key executive positions at financial institutions, such as G5 Evercore, where he was the partner responsible for managing investment funds and head of research from 2008 to 2011, Western Asset (2005-2007) and Banco Itaú (1998-2005), where he was fund manager.

Juliana Refinski de Freitas

Alumna MBA 2013

She holds a B.S. in Economics from Mackenzie Presbyterian University and an Executive MBA in Finance from Insper and received an award for excellence in academic performance. With 16 years of experience in financial institutions, she is Head of Model Management at Banco Bradesco, responsible for establishing guidelines, developing and maintaining the Corporate Management Model and unifying processes and concepts for financial management and decision-making. She also worked as Head of Management Information for Latin America at HSBC, responsible for growth initiatives, business strategy and boosting profitability in countries such as Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and Chile. Previously she was head of financial planning at Citibank and BankBoston as a middle and corporate banking specialist.

Júlio Araujo

He began his career in the banking industry in 1977, at Bozano Simonsen. In 1978, he joined BCN, which was acquired by Banco Bradesco in 1997, where he worked until 2014. He worked in all hierarchical levels over his career and ultimately was appointed an executive officer at BCN, in 1989. In August 2000, he was appointed an executive officer at Banco Bradesco, where he was responsible for various departments and companies of the banking group. He served on the board of directors of various companies, including BM&FBovespa S.A. – Securities, Commodities and Futures Exchange, Brazilian Clearing and Depository Corporation (CBLC), CETIP – OTC Clearing House (CETIP), Interministerial Price Board (CIP), Fundo Garantidor de Créditos (FGC), and also served as vice-president of the Brazilian Federation of Banks (FEBRABAN). He is currently a director at FGC.

Luciana Domagala

Corporate human capital director at Grupo Ultra. With 20 years of experience in Human Resources, she has led operations in both Brazil and abroad. Before joining Grupo Ultra, she served as people and management vice-president at PDG and chief human resources officer at Grupo Gerdau and also worked at Claro and RBS Group.She has vast experience in developing, implementing and managing local and global programs for HR systems, integrating companies in international environments and conducting cultural transformation processes. She has led international due diligence processes in human resources in countries that include China, Spain, Dominican Republic and the United States.She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) (1995), an Executive MBA from Insper (2008) and an MBA from the Dom Cabral Foundation (FDC) (2005). Luciana has completed extension courses at universities such as Insead, Hong Kong University, Duke University and Kellogg University. In 2013, she was honored with the award “Most Respected HR Professional of the Year” from the HR Academy.

Marcelo Medeiros

President of the EAC

He is co-president of Cumbuhy Investimentos. He served as Managing Director and a member of the Executive Committee of Banco Credit Suisse in Brazil, as well as a partner in Banco Garantia and Capitaltec. He currently is a director on the boards of Springs Global S.A., Grupo Technos S.A., Ideal Invest S.A., Cia. Hering and Eneva S.A. Previously he served as a director on the boards of América Latina Logística S.A., Brazil Trade Shows Partners Participações S.A., TAM S.A., Coteminas S.A. and Damásio Educacional S.A. Marcelo holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the Polytechnic School at the University of São Paulo (USP).

Marcos Marinho Lutz

Marcos Marinho Lutz is the CEO of Cosan Limited since April 2015. He is also a director on the boards of Comgás, Rumo, Raízen, Cosan S.A. and Monsanto Co.

He holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University, and a B.S. in Naval Engineering from the Polytechnic School. Previously he served as Executive Officer at CSN and at Ultracargo S.A. of the Ultra Group.

Mauro de Salles Aguiar

He participated in the Advanced Management Program (PGA) of the Dom Cabral Foundation and the European Institute of Business Administration (INSEAD) in Fontainebleau, France. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV-SP).

Headmaster of Colégio Bandeirantes, a primary and secondary school with approximately 2,600 students. Member of the State Education Board for six terms.

Member and director of the education area of the Latin American Business Council (CEAL) since July 2000. Member of the board of the Alumni Association since February 2011. Member of the Board of Curators of FECAP Foundation since 2013. President of the Brazilian Association of Private Schools (Abepar) since 2016.

Pedro Passos

He is chairman of the board of Natura and a co-founder of the company. Since 2013, he is also chairman of the board of TOTVS.

He holds a B.S. in Production Engineering from the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo (USP) and completed extension programs in Business Administration at the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV).

He is involved in various entities and organizations. From 2009 to 2005, he served as president of the Industrial Development Studies Institute (IEDI) and, in 2013, became president of Fundação SOS Mata Atlântica, an environmental NGO. He is a director on the boards of Instituto Empreender Endeavor since 2005, of the Technological Research Institute (IPT) since 2006, and of the São Paulo State Research Support Foundation (FAPESP) since 2013. He is also a member of Business Mobilization for Innovation (MEI) and a columnist for the newspaper Folha de S. Paulo.

Renata Rizzi

She holds a B.S. in Engineering from the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo (USP) and a master’s degree and doctorate in Economics from the School of Economics, Business Administration and Accounting (FEA) at USP. Previously she worked at the banks Citibank and Morgan Stanley and later conducted academic research in the field of political economics. She is co-founder of the newspaper Nexo Jornal, where she is director of strategy and business.

Ricardo Henriques

He is executive superintendent of the Unibanco Institute and a licentiate professor in the Economics Department at the Federal University of Fluminense (UFF). He was secretary of the Continuing Education, Literacy and Diversity Department (SECAD) at the Ministry of Education and executive secretary of the Ministry of Social Development, where he coordinated the design and initial implementation of the social assistance program known as Bolsa Família. Also in the federal government, he was special advisor to the president of the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) and a researcher at the Institute for Applied Economic Research (IPEA). In the state of Rio de Janeiro, he was state secretary of social assistance and human rights and president of the Pereira Passos Municipal Institute of Urbanism, where he developed the Social Pacifying Police Unit Program (UPP Social). He is a member of the board of the International Institute for Educational Planning (IIPE) of UNESCO and chaired the education commission of the 34th UNESCO General Conference.

Before joining Bain, he worked at the International Association of Students in Economic and Commercial Sciences (AIESEC) in Brussells, the European Parliament and Olivetti.

Stefano was awarded a bachelor’s degree summa cum laude in Economics from Universitá di Parma (Italy) and an MBA from the Graduate Business School at Columbia University in New York City. He is a member on the advisory boards of the São Paulo State Symphonic Orchestra Foundation (Osesp) and of Cultura Artística.

Stefano Bridelli

He is Managing Partner at Bain & Company in São Paulo. He joined Bain in 1983 and has over 30 years of experience in management consulting. He currently is Chairman for South America. Previously he served as Chairman of the Appointment Committee and as a member of Bain’s global Board of Directors. Stefano worked at Bain’s office in London from 1983 to 1990, when he participated in the opening of a Bain office in Milan. In 1994, he transferred to Rome. In early 1998, he transferred to Brazil as co-founder of the São Paulo office, after which he opened offices in Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro and Santiago.

Prior to enter Bain, he worked at AIESEC (Students International Association) in Brussels, on European Parliament and at Olivetti. Summa cum laude graduated in Economy by the Universitá di Parma (Italy), and has MBA by the Graduate Business School on Columbia University, New York (USA). He is OSESP and Artistical Culture Consulting board member.
