The Center for Business Studies conducts research to help us better understand and transform organizations and the business environment in Brazil.
To perform this role, the Center fosters interaction between researchers and the production sector by organizing events and publishing research, indicators and guides. Through these instruments, the Center encourages and participates in the debate on business environment, practices and policies to boost the competitiveness and productivity of the Brazilian economy.

Professor David Kallas is the director of the Center for Business Studies and Vanessa Boarati is the executive director. Learn more about the directors:
Mr. Kallás has been a professor at Insper since 2005, and teaches courses in the Executive Education and Graduate programs. He was awarded a doctorate in Strategy from the School of Economics and Business Administration at the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (EAESP-FGV) and a master’s degree in Business Policy and Economics and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the School of Economics, Business Administration and Accounting at the University of São Paulo (FEA/USP). His experience includes research, teaching and consulting in the following fields: strategy, institutions, performance assessments and balanced scorecard.
Executive Director: Vanessa Boarati
Executive Director and Researcher at Insper’s Center for Business Studies. Ms. Boarati holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees in Economics from the University of São Paulo. She worked for ten years as an economist at the law firm Sampaio Ferraz Advogados, specializing in regulatory and antitrust matters.
Professors from Insper and other universities also participate in the center, where they are responsible for the studies developed individually or by the working groups.
