Living an international experience without leaving São Paulo, forging connections, and adding knowledge to the academic plan through Insper Master in Business Administration (MBA) programs. These are the main benefits of attending the MBA International Week (MBAIW), a traditional practice at the institution, organized since 2017.
In 2023, the week will be held in person on June 3 to 7, with a Welcome Day to local and international participants on Saturday the 1st. The content is available to students enrolled in Insper MBA programs, in addition to students in foreign partner schools’ MBAs. MBA alumni will also be able to attend. Classes will be given in English, scheduled in all three periods of the day: morning, afternoon, and evening.
“International subjects will be offered, in addition to choices that will deepen foreigners’ knowledge of Brazil,” says Professor David Kallás, Associate Dean for Lato Sensu Graduate Programs at Insper and chairman of the Brazilian Association of Finance Executives (Anefac). “Insper’s partner schools abroad participate by sending both professors and students. As such, we increase classroom diversity with a multicultural learning environment conducive to the development of global competencies.”
The program offers subjects taught by professors from Portugal, France, the US, and Brazil, including Insper faculty members. In 2022, the week had the participation of 24 foreign students from seven different nationalities.
For Insper students, that is an international experience without the need to leave the classroom in Brazil. Activities such as that unlock the development of global competencies and strengthen the internationalization process at home, explains Ana Carolina Souza, International Relations Coordinator at Insper — as it requires one week of intensive dedication, she recommends participants organize their work schedules, so they will manage to focus on the pre-class, in-class, and after-class activities and exercises. “Each course’s class time is 16 hours. Students may choose two subjects that, combined, correspond to one elective subject in a quarter.”
Registration for Insper students will open soon. Insper students and alumni will be informed directly on their .edu email addresses (i.e., name@al.insper.edu.br). “The week is one of the school’s internationalization efforts, with relevant themes both to Brazilian and foreign students, and a unique opportunity for the development of a global network and intercultural education,” adds Ana. With the advantage that, by hosting students from other countries, Insper is also able to send students to their MBA programs to exchange experiences.
