Contrary to what many people think, the undergraduate program in Mechanical Engineering prepares professionals to work in a wide range of segments that go far beyond the automotive industry. In the medical field, for example, the mechanical engineer plays a fundamental role in the development of prostheses and life support equipment.   In general, the mechanical engineer takes care of the design, installation, manufacturing, and operation of machines, tools, refrigeration systems, heating, and energy conversion. There are so many possibilities and such a high demand for highly qualified professionals that it is rare to lack good job opportunities in the market."},{"text":"Objectives of the program: Use analytical skills and technical knowledge to design effective solutions for complex engineering problems;  Be agents of innovation, guided by the needs of the user and society in a constantly changing market;  Lead teams and mobilize resources to implement sustainable, economically, and ethically viable ventures; Use effective communication to develop and work in multidisciplinary and diverse teams; Be constantly oriented towards expanding learning skills at different levels of competency, seeking continuous improvement."},{"titleItem":"Insper experience"},{"text":"To meet the high demand for highly qualified professionals with excellence, Insper has designed a very differentiated program. The student-centered and project-based learning methodology prepares professionals to solve all kinds of real-world problems.   Teamwork, design, entrepreneurship, and continuous learning are also present throughout the program, from the first days of class.   Laboratories   To support practical teaching and foster innovations among engineering program students, Insper has an extensive infrastructure of laboratories.   We were the first engineering school in Brazil to have a Fab Lab, a space where students gather to carry out digital fabrication projects collaboratively, following the guidelines of the global network of digital laboratories created over 10 years ago at the MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) Center for Bits and Atoms. From this interaction, everything is created: machines, robots, toys, games, models, and much more.   Other laboratories available to students include the TechLab and the laboratories of Materials, Drives and Control, Thermal Sciences, Industrial Automation, Pneumatics and Hydraulics, in addition to the laboratories dedicated to computing and mechatronic systems.   ABET International Accreditation   Insper's Mechanical, Mechatronics, and Computer Engineering programs have received for the first time the quality seal granted by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET.   ABET accreditation certifies university programs in applied and natural sciences, computing, engineering, and engineering technology that meet the standards required to prepare professionals to enter innovative technical fields and emerging technologies. ABET, a non-governmental, non-profit organization with ISO 9001:2015 certification, currently accredits more than 4,500 programs in 895 colleges and universities in 40 countries.   The dimensions evaluated and fully met were: program objectives; learning outcomes; continuous improvement of teaching; curriculum; faculty and student body; infrastructure; and institutional support.   Accreditation makes the educational institution better known outside Brazil, enabling global negotiations to establish partnerships between engineering programs and foreign institutions in actions such as student exchanges and the exchange of professors and teaching experiences."},{"titleItem":"Program structure"},{"text":"In the first two semesters, students from the three Engineering programs study together. In the third and fourth semesters, Mechanical and Mechatronics undergraduates students continue in the same classes, while Computer Engineering students start taking courses of the Specific Cycle .   In the fifth, sixth, and seventh semesters, projects that integrate all courses around a theme are carried out. The Final Engineering Project is conducted in the eighth and ninth semesters. The tenth semester is reserved exclusively for internships."},{"titleItem":"Program Director"},{"variantCarousel":"banners","buttonText":"Ver bio","noPhotoText":"Sem foto","variantGroup":"docentes"},{"jcr:title":"ENGENHARIA MECÂNICA"},{"modalidade":"PRESENCIAL","programa":"Mechanical Engineering","titulo":"BACHAREL","nomeCurso":"ENGENHARIA MECÂNICA","tipo":"GRADUACAO","grauINEP":"Bacharelado","subtitulo":"Preparation for various segments such as automotive, biomedical, petroleum, and energy, handling design, installation, manufacturing, and operation.","cursoId":"GRENGMECA","tipoDocRenovINEP":"Portaria","decreto":"Reconhecido pela Portaria nº 24 de 13/01/2021 D.O.U. nº 10, Seção 1, pág. 41, de 15/01/2021."}]
