Recognized with the highest rating by CAPES of the Ministry of Education, the M.Sc. in Business Administration (MPA) program seeks to develop in the student the ability to apply strategy concepts in real situations. The M.Sc. student's own professional experience is often used as an example in the classroom, which helps to strengthen the ability to analyze and propose solutions to major organizational challenges.

The MPA curriculum is integrated with the new Ph.D. in Business Administration (DPA) program, together forming the Graduate Program in Business Administration of Insper.

Throughout the program, which lasts two years, students develop applications of strategies to identify causal relationships, allowing an in-depth analysis of specific problems related to the two research lines:

  • 1) Strategies in private organizations
  • 2) Strategies in public and third sector organizations

Students do not need to enter the program with a defined idea for the dissertation they will undertake. Only at the end of the third quarter do students begin to choose the research topic in which they intend to specialize to develop the dissertation.

The goal is that, upon completing the program, the M.Sc. student will be capable of sophisticatedly analyzing various strategic positioning possibilities within an organization, mastering the process of creating and implementing strategies effectively, and making decisions that result in sustainable competitive advantages for organizations, acting as the main agent of transformation. The M.Sc. degree also allows students to start a career as faculty.

The M.Sc. in Business Administration has a total duration of 2 years. Classes are held twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays) in the evening. Makeup classes and teaching assistant sessions are occasionally offered on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
