A study analyzes citations and points out Sérgio Lazzarini among researchers’ Top 2% — of about 160,000 individuals
In a publication made by the journal PLOS Biology, Insper Prof. Sérgio Lazzarini ranks among the world’s leading scientists. He is the holder of the Chafi Haddad Chair and Coordinator of Insper Metricis, our hub for socio-environmental impact measurement.
The study analyzes citations referring to 2% of the top scientists in all fields — about 160,000 individuals ֫— and places Sérgio Lazzarini at number 86,888.
“I was very pleased and surprised by this news. In my research, I have tried to pinpoint problems relevant to Brazil but always with an eye on how what we learn here could expand frontier knowledge. I would like to believe that result somewhat reflects this strategy,” says Prof. Lazzarini. “It certainly will motivate me to keep on working hard to continue learning and discussing findings in the national and international academic communities,” he adds.
For Prof. Sergio Firpo, Insper’s Dean of Research, Sérgio Lazzarini’s presence in this select list of researchers from all over the world is not surprising for those who know him. “Lazzarini is an example for us all. He is a hugely talented researcher and is resolutely dedicated to solving relevant problems for organizations, whether companies or governments. The presence of his name on this roster illustrates Insper’s current moment. In recent years, it has been reinforcing the research team of which Lazzarini is a part and one of the leaders”.
