The second edition starts on May 3 and brings together 44 participants selected among staff from the Brazilian Ministries of Foreign Affairs; Agriculture, Livestock, and Food Supply; Economy; and Apex-Brasil
On May 3, Monday, the second edition of the Executive Education course Brazil in Global Agribusiness begins. It is an initiative of Insper Agro Global, our center for global agribusiness, in partnership with the Alexandre de Gusmão Foundation (FUNAG), linked to the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
It is a short-term course (Total Course Hours = 32), held in the Live Learning format, and provides an immersion in the current scenario of major agribusiness challenges and transformations worldwide. The course focuses on key issues such as food security, international competitiveness and inclusion; trade and access to markets; environment and land use; animal health and sanitation; and communications.
Global macro-regions relevant to Brazilian agribusiness will also be analyzed. The strategic vision of Brazilian agribusiness abroad and related public policies will be evaluated. The content will be taught by a faculty made up of experts and big names in the industry: Marcos Jank (Insper); Alexandre Mendonça de Barros (MBAgro consulting); Ligia Dutra (the Brazilian Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock – CNA), Marcos Fava Neves (the University of São Paulo – USP); José Luiz Tejon (the University of Nantes and Jovem Pan radio network); Sulivan Alves (the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein – ABPA); Rodrigo Lima (Agroicone consulting); and Leandro Gilio (Insper). Also, we will promote debates with guest experts.
The course’s second edition is targeted exclusively at staff members from the Brazilian ministries of Foreign Affairs, Agriculture, and Economy, and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil). In just two weeks, 159 associates from these institutions applied for the course. From them, 44 attendees who work directly with the commercial policy and the promotion of Brazilian agribusiness in several countries around the world were selected.
According to Prof. Marcos Jank, Coordinator of Insper Agro Global, “among the selected participants, we have diplomats and heads of agribusiness and trade at embassies abroad, active agricultural attachés, special advisors to ministries, and agribusiness and foreign trade analysts. We will have attendees in all time zones, from Mexico to China”, Marcos emphasizes.
“With this [course], Insper, in partnership with FUNAG, intends to continue preparing public sector professionals to understand the new global dynamics of agribusiness better and, thus, work in a strategic and coordinated way, aiming at expanding the industry’s international inclusion and contributing to our country’s development,” he adds.
The course starts on May 3 with a virtual ceremony. It will have in attendance Prof. Marcos Lisboa, President of Insper; Ms. Tereza Cristina, Brazil’s Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, and Food Supply; Ambassador Carlos Alberto Franco França, Brazil’s Minister of Foreign Affairs; and Rear-Admiral Sergio Ricardo Segovia Barbosa, President of Apex-Brasil. The ceremony will be broadcast live at 9 a.m. (BRT) [the access link will be available soon].

Public Policy and Administration Programs
Brazil’s challenges in the areas of public policy management, making, and evaluation open up a wide range of opportunities for leaders and professionals engaged in modernization, capable of solving problems and transforming the country ethically and sustainably.
With that in mind, the Center for Public Policy and Administration offers a broad portfolio of short-, medium- and long-term open enrollment courses. They are targeted at the Public Sector and focus on the improvement of professionals working in governmental, private, or third-sector organizations.
Insper Live Learning
It consists of a portfolio of online programs developed with the purpose of disseminating knowledge through a digital platform that ensures the most important features of a face-to-face learning experience.
To expand the reach of knowledge produced at the school, we have Insper Conhecimento (Insper Knowledge). It is a portal that disseminates technically sound studies on topics of interest to society in fluid, candid and efficient language so that the non-specialized public can understand them.
