Discover the results of our Scholarship Fund's 2020 campaigns
Campaigns carried out by Insper make the institution’s commitment to supporting all scholarship students stronger
The year 2020 was challenging, marked by the new coronavirus pandemic. It was also a year marked by solidarity and unity. To keep on providing young people with the opportunity to pursue their dreams of having access to an education of excellence, the Scholarship Program launched the Alumni20 campaign and the third edition of the Transform with Insper’s Scholarship Program campaign.
Thanks to the engagement of the Insper Community, made up of alumni, students, professors, donors, and associates, we ended the year with positive results, even in the midst of such an atypical scenario.
The Alumni 20 Campaign
Launched in May 2020, the Alumni 20 campaign had the objective of increasing our Alumni Community’s participation in donating to the Insper Scholarship Program. The goal was to reach the number of 1,000 alumni donors, in addition to reaching R$ 1 million in donations. Our Chairman Claudio Haddad made a matching donation of up to R$ 1 million for the sum of donations made by alumni throughout the campaign. We ended with R$ 834,000 in donations with Claudio Haddad’s match. The Alumni community engaged both in committees that participated by activating their networks and through a group of campaign ambassadors composed of alumni, students, and professors.
The ranking of the donor classes was also active, and the one that donated the most was the Economics Class of 2015.
Transform with Insper’s Scholarship Program campaign – 3rd Edition
The Transform Insper’s Scholarship Program had its third edition. It aims at rallying students, professors, associates, alumni, and the entire Insper Community to participate in the movement for the culture of giving by supporting our Scholarship Program. As in every year, we did many activations in the “Giving Day,” a wide movement to promote the culture of giving in several countries.
During the campaign, the Semana Pertencer (Belonging Week) took place, with several student-promoted activities. The week included activations from student organizations, such as a lecture by Claudio Haddad, economist Dr. Zeina Latif, and philanthropist and entrepreneur Henrique Prata. Also, there was a poker tournament, a prize raffle, and gaming live streams. The campaign was held between October 1 and December 1 and raised R$ 245,000 plus a matching donation for Giving Day that reached R$ 100,000.
Another major highlight of last year’s campaigns was the rallying of the Scholarship Program Ambassadors. It is a group made up of our Alumni (this year with the special participation of Alumni residing outside Brazil), students, and professors. In fact, the rallying of funds by professors tripled in 2020. They always set us a good example, and all together, they showed that the unity of those who believe in the Scholarship Program as a tool for transformation through education increases every day.
“Embracing Insper’s Scholarship fund means believing that young people will transform society, building a country with more opportunities for talent to overcome all inequalities,” highlights Insper Professor of Finance and Scholarship Program backer Ricardo Rocha.
Insper’s Scholarship Program was created in 2004 and has already transformed the lives of over 530 young people who were awarded some type of scholarship. That would not be possible without the generous donations from friends of Insper. Click here to be part of the transformation.
