He also leads the sustainability portfolio within Executive Education. He is Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Strathclyde (UK), an affiliated researcher at the Emerging Market Economies Logistics Lab (EMeL) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and member of the board of The Good Food Institute (GFI). Vinicius is also an Associate Editor of the renowned journal Sustainable Production and Consumption (Elsevier, IF: 9.6) and of the Brazilian journal Gestão & Produção. Additionally, he serves as Policy Council Officer for the System Dynamics Society (2025–2028). Vinicius holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), with a stint as visiting researcher at MIT, where he also obtained a Graduate Certificate in Logistics and Supply Chain Management (GCLOG). He holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Production Engineering from the Universidade Federal de São Carlos (UFSCar). His research explores the intersection between sustainable development, supply chains, and complex systems modeling, focusing on food and humanitarian supply chains. He has published over 40 peer-reviewed articles in leading international journals, including the Journal of Business Logistics, Annals of Operations Research, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, Business Strategy and the Environment, Sustainable Cities and Society, System Dynamics Review, Benchmarking: An International Journal, Health Policy and Technology, Waste Management, Sustainable Production and Consumption, Journal of Cleaner Production, RAUSP, and RAP. He is an active member of the European Operations Management Association (EurOMA) and the Production and Operations Management Society (POMS), contributing to both local and international conferences as well as strategic initiatives for collaboration and knowledge dissemination. Vinicius has worked as a researcher and consultant for organizations of different sizes, geographies, and complexities, including Natura, Faber-Castell, Embraer, GKN Aerospace, Helibrás, Acco/Tilibra, Steelcase, LEGO, Grundfos, Siemens, Coloplast, Volkswagen, Flex, WestRock, Santander, Itaú Unibanco, and the World Bank.
