His current projects examine companies' reactions to changes in employees' mobility patterns, the fragmentation of technological ownership, internal restructuring processes, and government incentives for innovation. He is highly interested in exploring the circumstances under which knowledge produced in academia crosses university boundaries and is implemented by companies. Before starting his academic career, he worked for many years as a requirements engineer in the German automotive sector.
