Assistant Professor | Ph.D. in Public Policy - Carnegie Mellon University

    Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University, Heinz College of Public Policy and Management in the areas of Innovation and International Trade. Holds a Master's in Technology Policy from the Judge Business School at the University of Cambridge, UK. Graduated in Computer Engineering from Universidad de los Andes, Colombia. Joined Insper in August 2020.

    Participated in a multidisciplinary program promoted by business, engineering, public policy, and social sciences schools. Works at the intersection of innovation, technological change, and globalization. His dissertation topic focuses on the effect of foreign competition on innovation, diversification, and productivity of manufacturing firms in emerging markets.

    He was a visiting researcher at the Institute for Applied Economic Research (IPEA) in Rio de Janeiro in 2018, as part of his dissertation. Before starting his graduate studies, he gained experience in consulting and government.

    Prior to his Ph.D., he served as an advisor to the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation of the Colombian government (formerly known as Colciencias). He also worked in technology consulting in Europe, serving the financial sector in areas such as data analysis.
