A way to allow students to interact with other cultures, including the ones without financial conditions to go on an exchange program. This is the proposal of the Global Academy, a series of courses — four in total — that will be offered by Insper in July. Students from Insper, international, and other national institutions can apply. Classes will be held in English, with a 40-hour minimum course duration.   “With Global Academy, Insper gets aligned with the international university practice of offering summer/winter courses included in the global context and open to students from other countries. In the northern hemisphere, universities call them summer schools as they happen in July, different season from here”, says Ana Carolina Oliveira de Souza, Insper International Relations coordinator. “Classes will have international and national students with different perspectives to enrich the learning experience. The topics have corporate relevance and are aligned with the challenges faced in the labor market. Visits to companies will bring a practical approach.”   Welcome academic and cultural activities will happen on July 1st to receive the students. The goal is to make them feel welcome at Insper, with full integration with the institution’s infrastructure and tools and with Brazilian peers. The Global Academy will offer four two-week courses this year from July 3rd to the 14th. See below for more information.   Startup Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Bootcamp – São Paulo Immersion July 3rd – 14th, 2023   Entrepreneurship in São Paulo state is robust, with 31% of the adult population involved in maintaining or opening a business. This is the fifth-highest entrepreneurship rate in the world. In this context, the course will approach the required abilities to act in different business ecosystems. Students will be capable of understanding and analyzing characteristics, interfaces, strong points, and challenges of entrepreneur ecosystems. Classes will be held by Professor Thiago Soares.   Sustainability Business Strategy: Purpose and ESG July 3rd – 14th, 2023   The course assumes that businesses with purpose and that possess an ESG strategy play an important role in solving global issues such as climate change, biodiversity loss, poverty, and income inequality. Visits to companies such as Ambev and Gerdau are foreseen. The expectation is that, by the end of the course, students can, among other abilities, understand and analyze business strategies related to sustainability and ESG, explain the relationship between those strategies and financial performance, and; develop thinking and behavior to become leaders in pursuing those objectives. Classes will be held by Professor Priscila Borin Claro.   Climate finance July 3rd – 14th, 2023   The study of climate change through the view of the financial economy is relevant for various reasons that will be explored in the course, mainly because finance markets play a central role in mitigating climate change. They shall facilitate investment flow for green projects, collaborating with the global transition to an environmentally sustainable economy. Two examples of climate change mitigation performed by financial markets are finance innovation for green papers and the growth of investment funds for this purpose. Classes will be held by Portuguese professor João Amaro de Matos, vice-dean from Lisbon NOVA University.   Transportantion Shaping Sustainable Urbanization July 3rd – 14th, 2023   The Urban Mobility course is a result of a partnership between Insper and MIT ( Massachusetts Institute of Technology ). The objective is to present to the students the expected changes in the urban environment with investments in mobility and how they can be used to promote more sustainable and less socially unequal cities. It will also explore the relevance of transportation systems in defining cities. Classes will be held by Professor Adriano Borges.   Triple international accreditation   Insper is part of an exclusive group composed by a few more than 100 business schools worldwide with the market’s three most respected accreditations: the Association of MBAs (AMBA), Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), and EFMD Quality Improvement System (EQUIS).   “These three international accreditations put Insper on the radar of students worldwide,” says Ana Carolina Oliveira de Souza. “In addition, students will live the experience to know a great city like São Paulo, Latin America’s economic and financial center.” Global Academy is an Insper initiative aligned to its 2030 internationalization agenda."}]
