In August, Insper inaugurated its new building in Vila Olímpia, São Paulo. With a modern design and spacious areas, the new structure was designed to provide an even richer learning and integration experience for students, in addition to offering an optimized work environment for staff and faculty.
With a built area of 6.8 thousand square meters, distributed over six floors, the building is located on Quatá Street, where the first Insper buildings, inaugurated in 2006 and 2019, are also situated. The new structure has 11 classrooms — four in amphitheater format and seven in flat format — all equipped with the most advanced audio and video technology, aligning with the technological standard of the rest of the campus. Additionally, the new structure includes six study rooms, three snack bars, a restaurant, and six meeting rooms. The building's reception features facial recognition turnstiles, and visitors will be able to enjoy ample common areas.
The building can accommodate a community of 900 people in classrooms and knowledge centers and a floating population of approximately 325 people in study rooms, meetings, student organizations, and common areas.
The new space will also be the new headquarters for the teams of Insper’s knowledge centers, which include the Center for Public Management & Policy (CGPP), the Center for Regulation and Democracy (CRD), the Center for Cities Studies – Arq.Futuro Laboratory, and the Center for Business Studies. These centers house 24 labs, composed of professors, researchers, and students, who produce research and support the institution in disseminating knowledge through teaching programs, conferences, and events open to society.
The student organizations at Insper will also have a dedicated space in this new building. In total, 41 student groups will have access to facilities that enhance the academic experience beyond the classroom, promoting integration among different programs through activities related to themes such as global agribusiness, finance, health, politics, social actions, sports, and much more. The relocation of these organizations to the new space is scheduled for the coming months.
According to the President of Insper, Guilherme Martins, the inauguration of the building represents another important step in the institution’s expansion and its ongoing pursuit of excellence in teaching and research. "Our objective is to expand and strengthen Insper's performance in its current areas of knowledge, increasing our number of students, intensifying our academic production, and extending our impact on society," says Martins. "We want to maintain the essence of Insper, promoting integration among different programs and the transversality of themes, all with sustainable growth and maximum quality."
Insper's strategic planning also includes the construction of another building to accommodate the projected growth by the start of the next decade. "We will almost double the number of students, and the challenge will be to do this consistently, preserving the excellence of academic activities and strengthening the experience for everyone—faculty, students, and administrative staff," says the President of Insper.
