Designed for early-career professionals who seek to broaden their perspective, develop analytical competencies, and work in multicultural environments, Insper’s MBM International Experience QTEM combines academic excellence in Brazil with an international experience integrated into the curriculum. The International Experience track is part of the Master in Business Management (MBM) programme and stems from the synergy between the analytical profile of our students and Insper’s admission to the QTEM (Quantitative Techniques for Economics and Management) network, which brings together universities recognized for their intensive use of quantitative methods in economics and management. According to Professor Fábio Tescari, Program Director, joining QTEM highlighted the strong alignment between MBM students and students at partner institutions within the network. Based on this convergence, we structured a track that includes a curricular international experience, designed from the outset to be an integral part of the programme. Academic structure and specialization tracks The MBM is designed for early-career professionals from diverse academic backgrounds. During the first three trimesters, students complete a common management core, with courses focused on strategy, finance, operations, marketing, economics, and technology. From the fourth trimester onward, each student chooses a thematic track. The International Experience certification joins the already established tracks in Projects, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Data Analytics, and Technology for Business, expanding opportunities for deeper specialization in line with professional goals. International Immersion through the QTEM Network In the International Experience track, the period abroad takes place at the end of the common management module. Students spend six months at a QTEM partner university, taking courses in English and having the autonomy to design their own study plan, provided they maintain a quantitative emphasis. The model preserves academic flexibility. Students shape their academic path according to the courses offered by the host institution and their career plans, while maintaining a focus on data analysis and quantitative methods, core pillars of the QTEM network. During this period, students remain academically enrolled at Insper. The MBM tuition already includes the academic mobility component, with no additional enrollment or tuition fees charged abroad. Students are responsible only for travel, housing, and personal expenses. QTEM network institutions include HEC Lausanne, the University of Porto, and Paris Dauphine–PSL, as well as universities in Europe, Asia, and North America. The model operates on a reciprocal basis: Insper may send up to 20 students per semester and also welcomes international students to its campus, strengthening the multicultural environment even for those who choose domestic tracks. Global challenges and practical application The experience also includes participation in the Global Business Analytics Challenge, a competition in which multicultural teams solve real business problems based on data. The format simulates corporate environments and develops competencies in analytical reasoning, collaboration, and evidence-based decision-making. Student profile and career Development The MBM attracts professionals from different fields, such as engineering, communications, and social sciences. Some seek to consolidate their knowledge in management, while others are transitioning careers. For this reason, the programme includes a structured career planning module, with guidance provided from the beginning of the course. The distinctive feature of the International Experience track lies in the combination of two key drivers in today’s market: global exposure and data-driven analysis. It is not merely about studying abroad, but about integrating rigorous quantitative training with an international academic immersion of excellence. Admissions process and applications The admissions process follows the model of Insper’s lato sensu graduate programmes. After completing the online application form, candidates participate in an academic interview, during which their professional background, goals, and alignment with the programme’s analytical and international profile are assessed. English proficiency is also evaluated at this stage. The final decision is made by an admissions committee, which reviews the candidate’s overall competencies, academic background, and motivation. Classes for the MBM International Experience QTEM begin on April 28, and applications are now open."}]
