The call is open to teams composed of at least one principal investigator (PI) from each institution, with no restrictions on the field of study, and may involve Business Administration, Economics, Law, Engineering, and Computer Science. At Insper, the PI must be a full-time faculty member. The initiative aims to strengthen academic ties between the two institutions and support research aligned with the strategic interests of both universities. The call therefore reinforces the alliance established in 2025, when a partnership was signed between their Law programs. The collaborative research projects are expected to contribute to knowledge generation, increase the visibility of the projects, and support their future financial sustainability. “At the Insper Research Office, our mission is to strengthen and enhance our professors’ research activities. Part of this involves establishing strategic partnerships and raising funds to support our research. This new call with Notre Dame is the result of that ongoing effort,” says Vinícius Barqueiro, coordinator of the Research Office. Insper had previously launched an internal research funding call in 2025, as well as two editions of a joint call for research proposals in partnership with the Becker Friedman Institute for Economics (BFI) at the University of Chicago, according to Carolina Nakamura, a research management analyst at Insper. According to her, the new call seeks to support projects developed collaboratively by researchers from the two institutions. “The call is an Insper initiative to encourage research and the institution’s internationalization. By applying to the call, eligible faculty members from all Insper academic units have the opportunity to connect with potential collaborators at the University of Notre Dame and develop joint proposals on topics of common interest. Researchers whose proposals are selected will receive funding to conduct international collaborative research.” Learn about the rules Grants of up to 30,000 US dollars will be awarded per joint research project. Each researcher responsible for the initiative will receive funding of up to 15,000 US dollars from their respective institution. The fund may finance up to two projects, meaning that the total funding available is 60,000 US dollars, with equal contributions from both universities. The projects must be completed within 12 to 24 months. Eligible expenses include scholarships for research assistants, paid in accordance with [Insper policy.](https://insper.sharepoint.com/sites/Intranet/Politicas/Forms/AllItems.aspx?id=%2Fsites%2FIntranet%2FPoliticas%2FPLT%20008%20%2D%20Poli%CC%81tica%20de%20bolsas%20de%20Pesquisa%2Epdf&parent=%2Fsites%2FIntranet%2FPoliticas&isSPOFile=1&xsdata=MDV8MDJ8fDQ3NWU0YjJmYzMwMjQyMjkyMDU1MDhkZWIyYzU4MDM5fDllMmYxNDg1M2U1MzQ2NjJiMWRlMGMyYmNiNjZkNDQ3fDB8MHw2MzkxNDQ3NTg0NjI3MjcyNjR8VW5rbm93bnxWR1ZoYlhOVFpXTjFjbWwwZVZObGNuWnBZMlY4ZXlKRFFTSTZJbFJsWVcxelgwRlVVRk5sY25acFkyVmZVMUJQVEU5R0lpd2lWaUk2SWpBdU1DNHdNREF3SWl3aVVDSTZJbGRwYmpNeUlpd2lRVTRpT2lKUGRHaGxjaUlzSWxkVUlqb3hNWDA9fDF8TDJOb1lYUnpMekU1T2pNM056VXdPR0U0TFdWaE5ESXROR016WmkxaU9EQmpMV0ZsWXpWaE5EZGlNVFpoTkY5aFltRmhPVGd5TlMxalpURXpMVFF3TkRVdE9HWTBZUzFtWVRBMk16RTRPRGsxTVRGQWRXNXhMbWRpYkM1emNHRmpaWE12YldWemMyRm5aWE12TVRjM09EZzNPVEEwTkRjeU1nPT18NTk1M2I0ZjYwNDE3NGVlZDgzOTAwOGRlYjJjNTgwMzh8MmM1ZjFlODk3ZjJkNGU2N2JhNzRiZmU2ZTE0NjYyZDE%3D&sdata=RUZVN0NkOU1RQkxZMEZ0U1lDWHAraEMrR09DZ2gwOGZRc3N5TEErNzU2OD0%3D&ovuser=9e2f1485-3e53-4662-b1de-0c2bcb66d447%2CMarcioMA%40insper.edu.br&) Approval from the relevant compliance bodies is required at both institutions. Studies involving data collection and human participants in Brazil must be submitted in advance for ethical review by an accredited Research Ethics Committee. Expected outcomes include the production of coauthored publications and the submission of applications to external funding organizations. Joint supervision of doctoral dissertations, although not considered a primary outcome, is also welcome. “We strongly encourage our professors to apply and take advantage of this new opportunity,” says Vinícius. “Should they need assistance, the Research Office team is available to support them.” [ To learn more about the call, click here. ](https://www.insper.edu.br/pt/pesquisa/oportunidades-de-financiamento/notre-dame-insper-joint-research-grant)"}]
