A ceremony held at Maracanã Stadium, attended by His Royal Highness Prince William, marked the beginning of this groundbreaking collaboration to train a new generation of leaders equipped to drive Brazil’s transition toward a low-carbon economy.   Scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2026, the “Insper Earthshot Climate Leadership Program” will last 18 months, in a graduate lato sensu format, and will offer 40 places per class, in a hybrid mode. The expectation is to train 240 professionals by 2030, combining technical excellence, systemic vision, and commitment to sustainable development.   The program will serve as a platform for accessing the Earthshot Prize’s global network, expanding the exchange of experiences and access to innovative solutions in sustainability and climate.   The initiative is part of Generation Earthshot, a global Earthshot Prize program that seeks to empower young and emerging professionals in climate leadership. In Brazil, Generation Earthshot is taking place from November 2 to 5 in Rio de Janeiro, bringing together young innovators, experts, and international leaders in a collaborative environment dedicated to developing high-impact environmental solutions.   Founded in 2020 by His Royal Highness Prince William, the Earthshot Prize aims to inspire a decade of optimism and climate action by recognizing and supporting transformative environmental solutions around the world. The 2025 edition marks the first time that the Earthshot Prize Awards Ceremony will be held in Latin America, consolidating Brazil’s growing prominence in the global environmental agenda. Shortly thereafter, Brazil will host COP30 in Belém (Pará), reinforcing its strategic role in tackling the climate challenges of this decade.     “Just like the Earthshot Prize, we believe that urgency combined with optimism leads to action, and that knowledge only makes sense when it improves people's lives and helps solve real societal challenges,” said Tania Haddad , President of the [Board of Directors](/content/insper-portal/en/quem-somos/governanca/conselho-deliberativo.html) of Insper during the event at Maracanã. “We are very proud to celebrate our partnership."   Systemic vision and focus on real solutions   The program combines conceptual courses, real case studies, and practical experiences in environments that stimulate active learning and experimentation with innovative solutions. The methodology integrates design thinking, systems thinking, simulations, and collaborative activities, encouraging critical thinking and the ability to act creatively and strategically in the face of complex challenges.   “This partnership consolidates Insper's journey on the subject of sustainability, which we understand to be a transversal competency for the innovative leaders we train. The contemporary challenges are immense, and we will only make significant progress if we act systemically and interdisciplinarily, understanding that the State, companies, and civil society are the protagonists of change. The leaders we will train in this program with the Earthshot Prize will be at the forefront of developing the innovative solutions that will drive this systemic change," says [Vinicius Picanço Rodrigues](https://www.insper.edu.br/pt/docentes/vinicius-picanco-rodrigues) , Program Director of the program.   More than transmitting technical knowledge, the program seeks to develop strategic and behavioral competencies essential for contemporary climate leadership. Among them are the systemic vision to understand and act on multifaceted environmental problems, collaborative and interdisciplinary leadership, the ability to align socio-environmental impact and economic value, as well as data-driven decision-making guided by evidence and ethical principles.   The program also explores the use of digital technologies and artificial intelligence in climate solutions and the creation of regenerative business models and sustainable impact policies. In the end, the professional will be prepared to work in strategic positions that integrate sustainability, innovation, management, and public policies, converting environmental and social challenges into real opportunities for transformation and positive impact."},{"type":"html"}]
