Innovation and excellence go hand in hand — and our goal is to combine the best technology with a commitment to improving people’s lives.”   ChatGPT Edu is a version of the AI tool developed for educational institutions, offering solutions such as text interpretation, coding, data analysis, document editing, and summarization. In this mode, conversations and data are not used to train OpenAI models.   “Our mission is to provide a tool so that as many people as possible can experience the technology, understand its limits, and see what lies ahead,” says Fábio Mori, Account Director for Education at OpenAI and an Insper alumnus.   How ChatGPT Edu works   ChatGPT Edu adapts to each user’s profile. “It learns how you like to learn and what you like to do. A [Mechatronics Engineering](/content/insper-portal/en/programs/undergraduate/mechatronic-engineering.html) student won’t need explanations starting from the basics; meanwhile, a [Business Administration](/content/insper-portal/en/programs/undergraduate/business-administration.html) student will get answers suited to their context,” explains Fábio. This personalization turns the tool into a kind of digital tutor, shaped by daily use.   Among the new features of this model is the recently launched study mode, inspired by the Socratic method: instead of giving direct answers, ChatGPT guides the student through questions and steps that lead to understanding the content.   Even before the agreement, Insper was already exploring the use of generative AI, both in teaching with the technology and teaching about it. For a year, the institution has maintained the AI Learning Community, a space created to support faculty amid the transformations this technology brings, encouraging continuous training, exchange of experiences, and reflection on its careful use in teaching.   “Many were already using these models. Now we are expanding access, with fewer restrictions than individual licenses and with an educational perspective capable of generating indicators and improving the experience,” explains [André Filipe](/content/insper-portal/en/docentes/andre-filipe-de-moraes-batista.html) , professor and Technology Director at Insper. “Pedagogical practices are naturally challenged, and this is an opportunity to be seized.”   AI Also optimizes administrative routines   The technology also improves and speeds up solving practical challenges such as processing medical certificates for absence justification, transcribing disciplinary processes, validating documents, and procedural checklists.   At the school, AI even supports predicting mental health issues among the student community through attendance and grade analysis. “If AI detects that a student is frequently late or absent, we generate insights for the Student Life department that maybe more focused attention is needed for that student,” explains André.   Innovation as a core strategy   At Insper, innovation is a pillar for training leaders capable of driving transformations with high economic and social value. For Guilherme, this new development symbolizes how Insper faces technological changes.   “When we talk about technology, we must act with attention and agility simultaneously, without giving up either,” he states. “We are optimistic about technological changes. If our students graduate without understanding or experiencing the state of the art in relevant technologies, we fail,” says Guilherme, adding that the project also involves keeping professors and administrative staff aligned with technological transformations.   OpenAI, in turn, sees Insper as a favorable environment to test and expand the educational use of AI. “Experimentation is very important to understand what you can do, what the limits are, and how changes happen.
