No dia 10 de março, o Insper receberá a visita do Dean Marcus Cole, da The Law School da University of Notre Dame, para uma mesa-redonda com a comunidade Insper e o público externo. O encontro discutirá os desafios e as oportunidades trazidos pelas mudanças tecnológicas na prática jurídica no mercado global.

O evento faz parte da celebração da assinatura do acordo de cooperação entre o Insper e a The Law School da University of Notre Dame, que busca oferecer oportunidades de intercâmbio e colaboração internacional para estudantes e professores de ambas as instituições.

Dean Marcus Cole

Marcus Cole is the Joseph A. Matson Dean and Professor of Law at Notre Dame Law School. Dean Cole is a leading scholar of the law and economics of commerce and finance, and was a member of the faculty at Stanford Law School for twenty-two years before being appointed Dean at Notre Dame in 2019. He is the 11th dean in the history of the Law School.

Since coming to Notre Dame Law School, his list of accomplishments includes establishing the groundbreaking Lindsay and Matt Moroun Religious Liberty Clinic, opening the Exoneration Justice Clinic, and expanding the Law School’s international programs through his Global Lawyering Initiative, several new international partnerships, and new Global Human Rights Clinic. He has also overseen the enrollment of the highest academic and most-diverse classes ever in the Law School’s history.

The University's leadership reappointed Dean Cole to serve a second five-year term, which began on July 1, 2024. In 2024, Dean Cole received the St. Thomas More Medal from Lord Nicolas Windsor and was inducted into the Fellowship of God’s Good Servant at Stonyhurst College (U.K.). He was also awarded the Dignitatis Humanae Award by the University of St. Thomas School of Law. In 2023, he was inducted into the American College of Bankruptcy.

He earned his bachelor’s degree from Cornell University, and his Juris Doctorate from Northwestern University. He clerked for Morris Sheppard Arnold of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit, and served as an associate with the Chicago law firm of Mayer Brown, before joining the faculty at Stanford.

Diego Werneck Arguelhes

Professor Associado do Insper. É Doutor em Direito e Master of Laws (LL.M.) pela Universidade Yale (EUA) e Bacharel e Mestre em Direito Público pela Universidade Estadual do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). É pesquisador-sênior do Centro Brasileiro de Relações Internacionais (CEBRI). Foi professor pesquisador da FGV Direito Rio - Escola de Direito do Rio de Janeiro.

Foi pesquisador visitante no Instituto Max Planck para Direito Internacional e Direito Público Comparado, no Weizenbaum Institute for the Networked Society e no Information Society Project (ISP/Yale Law School), além de Hauser Global Law Research Fellow na Universidade de Nova York (NYU).

Foi professor visitante na Universidade de St. Gallen (2019.1) e na pós-graduação em Direito da UFRJ (2020-2021). 

É Conselheiro da Seção Brasileira da International Society of Public Law (ICON-S), da qual foi codiretor fundador (2019-2022); e coordenador, com Rogério Arantes (USP), da rede “Mare Incognitum” de pesquisa empírica sobre o STF.
