If you enjoy working in the automotive, biomedical, petroleum, or renewable energy sectors, this is your program. Contrary to what many people think, the undergraduate program in Mechanical Engineering prepares professionals to work in a wide range of segments that go far beyond the automotive industry. In the medical field, for example, the mechanical engineer plays a fundamental role in the development of prostheses and life support equipment.

In general, the mechanical engineer takes care of the design, installation, manufacturing, and operation of machines, tools, refrigeration systems, heating, and energy conversion. There are so many possibilities and such a high demand for highly qualified professionals that it is rare to lack good job opportunities in the market.

Objectives of the program:

  • Use analytical skills and technical knowledge to design effective solutions for complex engineering problems;
  •  Be agents of innovation, guided by the needs of the user and society in a constantly changing market;
  •  Lead teams and mobilize resources to implement sustainable, economically, and ethically viable ventures;
  • Use effective communication to develop and work in multidisciplinary and diverse teams;
