Graduated (1999) in Control and Automation Engineering from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUC-RS), received a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Mexico (2004) and an MPA from Harvard University (2012). Works in the areas of control, signal processing, and mechanical vibrations.
Professor and Program Director of the undergraduate program in Mechatronic Engineering at Insper since 2012. Between 2004 and 2012, he worked at Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUC-RS), where he was a professor and Program Director of the Control and Automation Engineering program, Vice Dean of the School of Engineering, and institutional development advisor to the Provost. In 2016, Vinicius was the Executive Director of the Brazil Office at Harvard University, in São Paulo. In 2003, he was a visiting researcher at the Universidad de Vigo, Spain.
