Rodrigo Reis Soares

Full Professor | Lemann Foundation Chair | Ph.D. in Economics - University of Chicago

Professor of the Lemann Foundation Chair at Insper. Prior to Insper, he was a professor at Columbia University, São Paulo School of Economics at the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (EESP FGV), Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio), and University of Maryland.

His research encompasses health economics and demography to crime and labor market. His works have been published in various scientific journals, including American Economic Review, Journal of Political Economy, and Review of Economic Studies.

He is an Elected Fellow of the Econometric Society and an honorary member of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic Association. In 2006, he received the Arrow Award from the International Health Economics Association for the best paper published in the field of Health Economics. He was also awarded four times with the Haralambos Simeonidis Award from the National Association of Graduate Centres in Economics (ANPEC).

He is a research associate at IZA, GLO, and J-PAL. Associate editor of the Journal of Human Capital, Journal of Demographic Economics, and IZA Journal of Development & Migration.
