Her interests focus on the integration of technology, sustainability, and participatory processes to address challenges in vulnerable communities, primarily focused on adapting territories to climate change.   Since 2020, Paulina has served as Academic Coordinator and, subsequently, Institutional Coordinator of the Center for Urban Studies – Arq.Futuro Laboratory, at Insper. Dr. Achurra participated in the development and implementation of the undergraduate Engineering program at Insper. She has experience in innovation in engineering education and project-based learning (PBL) curriculum design. She was a Visiting Professor of Engineering at Olin College of Engineering (2016-2017). She has experience in applied research in urban interventions in the pursuit of more resilient cities.   Paulina holds degrees in Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology Engineering from the University of Chile (1999), a master's degree in Chemical Engineering (2003), and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering (2007), both from Stanford University.
