About Strategy Research Center

Interaction with companies for the production of knowledge in business strategy

The Strategy Research Center of Insper focuses on generating and disseminating knowledge in business strategy through broad-based interaction between the business world and the realm of academic research.

The work is a joint effort by the Center and companies that look to Insper to serve as partner offering strategic support for the decision-making process.

The Center's funds come both from the investments made by Insper and from partner companies and clients, which provide financial support, data and other resources for conducting cutting-edge research with important practical applications.

The Center develops research activities, organizes events and prepares case studies for discussion in the classroom, providing professors and students with the opportunity to develop academic activities in conjunction with partner companies. Each activity is designated a professor from the Insper faculty as well as undergraduate students interested in the specific issue.

The Center's basic lines of analysis consist of:

  • Competitive Strategy: Analysis of patterns of interaction between firms and the sources of sustainable returns in the respective market or industry.
  • Corporate Strategy: Selection by companies of a portfolio of activities, pursuing sustainable returns over the long term.
  • Organizational Strategy: Design of internal structures, processes and external relationships seeking to maximize performance.
